Paw Patrol Skye Birthday Party

Pink and girlie.. not your typical Paw Patrol Party! An animal girl at heart, Paw Patrol is one of my daughter’s favorite shows on Nick Jr. Wanting to put on a special 5th birthday party, I centered my theme around the girl dog character “Skye”. While visiting party stores, I found mostly blue and red party decorations that were pretty boyish. Refusing to be discouraged, I set out to create my own decorations.

A party wouldn’t be complete without backdrops and banners. Feeling crafty, I made my own happy birthday banner using supplies I had around the house. Banners are usually the easy party for me. Finding a backdrop can be another story! While browsing the web, I came across a cute and easy idea that used streamers! Twisting the streamers for a unique appeal, my party came together perfectly.

With puppies on my mind, I searched for food ideas that would accent my theme well. Caramel pupcorn, pupcakes, and puppy chow are just a few of my party snacks! Spending most of my energy on decorating, I like to keep the snacks light and fun! If I can buy the snacks at the store, I do so in order to avoid baking.

Planning parties is a blast but cost is always a factor. Thrift stores and dollar stores are perfect places to look when finding party supplies. The key is to pick a color scheme and keep an eye out for items that might go along with the chosen theme. While browsing stores, I searched for any decorations that would relate to puppies or Paw Patrol. A blue dog food tray that I found at the dollar store was the perfect accent. Learning to think creatively and stick to a budget, my paw patrol party was a success!
