Party Recap

When Karlee and Tyler’s 2020 wedding reception got cancelled due to coronavirus they decided to make the best of their cancelled party, and turn it into a magical in home first birthday for their beautiful baby girl, Madelynn! With a team full of fabulous local vendors already booked we figured out a way to turn a beautiful wedding reception into the most memorable first birthday ever! Like so many of us this year, their plans changed drastically, and with a second state wide shut down occurring we still had a considerable number of hoops to jump through, but I can’t imagine this party being any better!

Highlighted elements:
Custom Acrylic Wonder Woman “Invisible Jets”
Wonder Woman Dress up Station
Floral Wonder Woman Crown
Hand-painted Personalized Velvet Wonder Woman Cape
Abstract Boho Dried + Tropical Floral
Arrangements
Trendy Acrylic Signage
Wonder Woman Logo Cupcakes
Tons of Copper + Balloon Details
Wonder Woman Shield Highchair Garland

Karlee wanted a “ONEder” Wonder Woman theme for her kiddos first birthday, and with the release of the new Wonder Woman 1984 movie coming up on December 25th on HBO, I couldn’t wait to design something trendy but original for her! The very first design element that popped into my mind was an amazing Invisible Jet!

We all know Wonder Woman travels in style, incorporating her invisible jet into the design would be tricky, but I was determined! I couldn’t find what I wanted anywhere online or in stores, they just didn’t exist! So I called up our fab local acrylic signage guru Carly Allred @carlyallredstudio and pitched her a crazy idea- let’s use some of that trendy wedding acrylic piled up from our cancelled reception and bring it into our kids party design with style- I was so excited that Carly was willing and excited to bring my invisible jet dreams to life- they turned out so beautiful and delicate, something we had never seen before in all our super hero themed parties, we were both ecstatic when they finally came together! Carly is such a talent with her design and execution with everything she does in her studio- a quote from the Wonder Woman theme song for our dress up station seemed like an obvious addition to our acrylic collection- each kiddo could grab a mask, and cape!

“All the world is waiting for you, and the power you posses”

Carly brought more of her design magic into my dream Wonder Woman Logo backdrop for our dessert table- this custom red glitter, translucent pale blue and metallic gold WW logo was so striking and sparkley, I need more red glitter acrylic in my life for sure! A matching cake topper trio was the perfect compliment to our design- inverting out “W” to an “M” for Madelynn with our logo topper was just an added detail for this Bebe’s big day!

Capturing bebe Madelynn’s big day was one of my fave people + photographers, Ilennis Martinez of @ilennismartinezphotography - with every party Bebe planning package we offer clients the option for a mini session to document the big day- everything from details to family photos, I love being able to offer such a quality photog for their most memorable moments! Ilennis does everything from corporate work, logo design, family photos, weddings, couples, commercial interiors - and she’s one of the best mini session stylists and set designers in the biz- having her by my side at events always gives me an extra boost of confidence, she’s always meticulous with detail and making sure everyone and everything is at its best! Her edit is clean and beautiful and always true to color, which is one of my biggest needs and wants in my business! You can see her availability for 2021 and sign up for her spring mini sessions right now on her website and through her link in bio on her Instagram!

Frost Me Sweet @frostmesweet is one of my fave places for everything, drinks, dinner, cake, cookies- Chef Megan Savely always does the best work with the most beautiful execution! Our watercolor smash cake, gold leaf star cookies and Wonder Woman logo cookies tied into our theme effortlessly with even red glitter fondant and shiny gold emblems! This December we are teaming up together and offering local Tri-City residents an opportunity to win a party package with myself and Frost Me Sweet for one lucky kiddo- so make sure you follow our social media accounts to enter to win your own beautiful first bday setup! And for those of you wondering, that copper legged highchair is just a spray painted version of IKEA’s Antilop highchair, we simply took apart the legs, which are detachable- painted them and them re-assembled! I love this highchair, it was my sons and is super easy to travel with since the legs come right off! Definetly an easy DIY.

We found a beautiful red velvet children’s cape on Etsy and knew we were wanting it personalized for our birthday girls big day- Sincerely, Anna Shabak @sincerelyannashabak is the sweetest soul and one of my favorite local hand-letter talents - she did such a beautiful job customizing this cape for Madelynn, a fun detail to add to our list of amazing elements!

The first thing we all probably noticed at this event were the amazing abstract floral arrangements designed by Chandra Christenson of Simplified Celebrations @flowermoney when Karlee told me she wanted “all the flowers” I was so pumped, it’s not everyday I get clients with such big flower dreams, so once again we used some of our cancelled wedding floral budget and rolled it over into a brand new event design- Chandra incorporated trendy dried florals and painted pampas grass with beautiful abstract tropicals + florals and the result was truly inspiring! Beautiful gold hand painted tropical leaf details and dyed blue pampas grass were just a few of my favorite elements in our floral arrangements. We know Wonder Woman wears a gold crown- but this Bebe needed her crown to be made out of beautiful flowers! This infant floral crown was another fave from this event, and our birthday girl was so precious in it! Chandra is always finding ways to pull off the most popular floral trends while still maintaining her own originality - definitely my favorite part of our Wonder Woman design!

Not all parties need balloons, but with all the tall copper backdrop rentals we had to utilize we really needed to fill in some space and balloons can make such an impact. I love color, and like the rest of our desert dwelling vendors I also love the trendy boho vibes we see in so many event designs lately, but my heart belongs to bold, bright, COLOR. I saw a lot of cobalt in our super hero inspo and really wanted to mellow it out with some pastel blues, baby pinks and goldenrod rather than bright yellow- bringing in tons of vibrant reds in the balloons and the florals really brought our party dreams to life! Our highchair backdrop, dessert table and cape station all dressed up with colorful balloon garlands added the perfect touch of whimsy to this sophisticated and chic first birthday bash!
