Natalie's 13th Neon Black Light Party!

For this party we had 3 themes rolled into 1! First we ordered the invitations from Etsy. We went with an anime style for the invitations because the birthday girl thought they looked cool and reminded her of the Vocaloids she's currently been listening to. The invitations were ticket style and we couldn't find an envelope we liked that fit them so we went to our local craft store and bought Neon card stock sheets and made custom invitations. We also embellished each one with stamps.

We wanted the blacklight part of the party to be a surprise but we also wanted the birthday girl to be some what involved in decisions about the party as well, so that's when I found the Mall Crawl idea! So I made a sheet with my neon card stock with rules and a list of items to get at the mall.

So when the day of the party arrived the birthday girls aunt took the girls to the mall to do their scavenger hunt. We gave them a 2 hour time limit to finish their hunt. That got them out of the house so we could decorate it for the blacklight part of the party!

We put streamers, balloons, and confetti everywhere! Then we lit two 18" black lights and let the party begin!

• Desserts

  Cake made by me using chocolate pre made fondant, Edible paper and an edible marker, skittles and small spiral lollipops. Oreo pops, topped with white chocolate and sprinkles. Banana Split Bites, banana pieces cut small and partially hollowed out, then filled with strawberry ice cream and topped with whipped cream, cherries and chocolate drizzle!

  Custom neon t-shirts with their names on the back, custom party mix CD, Neon eye shadow, lip gloss, neon hair ties, socks, and glow bracelets.

  Horror movie and dancing.

• What People Ate

  "Walking" tacos, which were just individual sized Dorito bags that were crunched up then opened and topped with ground beef, beans, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Meatball subs, which was a small bag of frozen meatballs and hoagie buns cut in half to make them smaller and easier to handle. There was also veggies and chips with ranch dip.

• What People Drank

  Glowing punch made with lemon lime Gatorade, 7- up, and tonic water to make it glow.

• Best Moment

  When they walked in the door, because they all looked really confused until they saw their shirts glowing, then they got it!

• Most Touching Moment

  When her friends said that it was the best party they've ever been to!

• Best Dressed

  Birthday girl, of course!

• Funniest Moment

  When they scared each other by screaming while they were watching the horror movie!
