My Twin Boys' 4th Birthday Train Party

My twin boys love trains. We live in the Bay Area where CalTrain (the local commuter train) runs through our town, on the hour and more. I had made them a 3D train cake for their 3rd Birthday, and they couldn't stop talking about the fact that they wanted a train cake for their 4th Birthday too. The CalTrain colors were easy to launch my theme from: gray, red and black with a little yellow thrown in for fun. Their cakes evolved from being an engine with cars to being just the engine...based on scale, I decided the engine was enough work. And yes, they each got their own cake. :)

  Honest Kids Pink Lemondade for the kids, and champagne for the adults.

  The boys made up their own games - played trains, trucks, cars, pirates and played in the sandbox.
