Party Recap

This party was special to me because it was my sons 2nd birthday and the first big party we had for him. He loves dogs so we knew that had to be the theme. I chose to go with a more modern aesthetic while still keeping some fun details. The party was modeled off of the invite I created which was clean and modern while still having a fun dog theme. I took the silhouette I used in the invite and tied it in throughout the party. The party was held at the Helen Woodward Animal Center and it was so much fun for all the kids, there were animal presentations and a large play area to run and play in.
The party was midmorning so I didn't want to have too much food but to still have some great snack options. I chose to do a yogurt parfait bar, the guests had a variety of toppings to chose from and it was a fun and healthy snack for all of the little ones in attendance.
There were a lot of DIY projects that I did for the party. My favorite might be the free standing dogs that were used as the centerpiece on the kids picnic table. They were created by cutting the dog silhouettes out in felt and stuffing them then sewing together. I then placed them on a dowel and mounted them in a small block of wood. The guests favorite detail might have been the puppy adoption party favors.
The hardest part of this party set up was that we only had 30 minutes to set the whole thing up but it came together and I am happy with the outcome. Most importantly all of the guest had a great time and my son loved the party!
