  • Activities / Games

Backyard Rodeo: Stick horse barrel racing and pole bending; Roping lessons; wagon rides; photo booth

  • Budget

Very Minimal: food was the main expense. Everything was DIY; I used old pallets to make the bar, table, and signs. Stick horses were made from tag board and donated yard sticks. Other favors were from birthdaydirect.com and very affordable. Seating was straw bales from grandpa's farm.

  • What People Ate

Pork Posse Sandwiches (smoked pork loin); Hoe Down Hotdogs; Cowgirl Coleslaw; Bucking Bronco Beans; Salsa con Queso; chips; veggie tray; Apple Salsa

  • What People Drank

    lemonade and rootbeer floats

  • Decorations

Burlap and lace wrapped mason jars held the silverware. Burlap and lace wrapped vases were filled with bright yellow sunflowers with flag accents. A bar made out of pallets held the Watering Hole for the lemonade and root beer floats. Bandanas were used as bunting. I made a backdrop by using a pallet with rope to hang "Wanted" posters of the birthday girl. I used rope and floral wire to shape a "M" for the top.

  • Photo Booth

We made a backdrop out of hay bales for the photo booth. We used old pallet wood to make a "Wanted" frame. Props were lips, mustaches cut out and put on popsicle sticks.Other decorations at the photo booth were mason jars filled with fresh cut wild flowers and lilacs from the yard.

    Party Planner

Mom (me!) planned the entire event. The event was all do it yourself. All printables were done using Microsoft publisher and printed at home. Food was cooked by the family. Cake was made by mom. Activities were planned by mom, with the birthday girl's grandpa and uncle helping run the rodeo! Photographs were taken by Mom and Grandpa.
