Selected as Party of the Day on May 9th!
Mia's Rainbow 6th Birthday
ByParty Recap
In the past, we've done parties with really elaborate decorations that required either an outside venue or rearranging all our living room furniture. This year, we decided to keep things much simpler for my daughter's 6th birthday. I chose the rainbow theme (with Mia's approval of course!) after I kept coming across simple rainbow images with muted colors. Discovering the fiber rainbow art we used by Mandi Smethells sealed the deal. I started with the rainbow illustration, then designed the invitations and other paper goods. Next came all the purchased decorations and tableware. I worked in subtle boho elements like our macrame table runner and the tassel garland from Shop Sweet Lulu. At Mia's request, I made a rainbow piñata in coordinating colors.
For dinner we served hot dogs, home made mac and cheese, fruit and veggies. For desserts - chocolate bundt cake, cake batter truffles, frosted sugar cookies.
