Party Recap
OMG! Ka’Miyah is ROLLING into 12! Since this was her last year as a pre-teen and in elementary school, she wanted to have a party where she could invite all of her friends. Without spending too much money and making sure each child had lots of fun, I decided rolling skating would be best. My daughter had an EMOJIonal Skating Party for her 12th birthday.
INVITATIONS: I designed LOL emoji invitations on Vistaprint.com. I made them to match the LOL Thank You postcards I purchased from Amazon.
ATTIRE: For the photoshoot, my daughter wore a mustard gold short sleeve shirt. The shirt had a turquoise roller skate on the front. The wording on the side of the roller skate read Roller Girl. She wore a light denim pleated skirt with neon rainbow striped sheer knee-high socks. Her shoes were mustard gold, but she changed into turquoise roller skates for different photo options. Her jewelry consisted of a layered happy face necklace, turquoise and mustard gold bracelets, and gold hoop earrings.
At school, she wore a white button-down shirt with a colorful emoji on the front. She wore a black pleated skirt with emoji socks from Neon Kisses. Her shoes were a multi-colored pair of DC sneakers that matched the emoji on the shirt and socks perfectly. Her hair was braided in the colors of the emojis that matched her clothing.
At the party, the birthday girl wore a white, short-sleeved T-shirt. The shirt was personalized with a graphic design of roller skates printed on the front. The customized wording on the shirt read This Is How I Roll. The “o” in Roll was the Smirk Emoji. She wore a denim pleated skirt with pink striped knee-high socks and powder blue Steve Madden sneakers. Her earrings were yellow smiley faces.
Her sister’s T-shirt read Rolling with My Homie. The “o” in Rolling was the Stuck-Out Tongue Emoji with the Winking Eyes. She wore denim Bermuda shorts with colorful striped knee-high socks with her powder blue and black Jordans. She wore her hair in a bun with a colorful scrunchie that matched her shirt.
My shirt read Let’s Roll and Mom was under the roller skate graphic. The “o” in Roll was the Heart Eyes Emoji. I wore denim Bermuda shorts that were frayed on the front. My socks were colorful striped and knee-high, worn with powder blue Steve Madden sneakers. My earrings were powder blue teardrops.
Dad also had a white, short sleeve T-shirt and a black cap. His shirt read Roll Out with Dad under a roller skate graphic. The “o” in Roll was the Emoji with the Shades. He wore jean shorts with his black and blue Jordans.
DECORATIONS: The party room had brightly-colored designs on the wall. The designs matched the EMOJIonal Skating Party theme perfectly. I covered the tables with yellow tablecloths. The emoji confetti drip birthday cake was placed in the center of the table. The poop emoji cupcakes were set on the left side of the cake. I scattered emoji sugar cookies on the table. I neatly put the black emoji plates, napkins, cups, and black forks on the right side of the cake.
FOOD: Cheese Pizza; Pepperoni Pizza; Funfetti Birthday Cake; and Chocolate Poop Emoji Cupcakes
ACTIVITIES: Roller Skating and Arcade Games
PARTY FAVORS: Emoji Drawstring Bags/Emoji Tote Bags; Rolo (Skate) Candy; Emoji Cups; Emoji UNO Cards; Emoji Cookies; Emoji Journals; Emoji Pencils; Emoji Erasers; Emoji Stickers; Emoji Masks; Emoji Shoelaces; Emoji Socks; and Emoji Keychains
THANK YOU CARDS: I bought LOL emoji Thank You postcards from Amazon. The postcards had a black background with a variety of emojis. A rectangular speech bubble, outlined in orange, was in the center of the postcard and it read Thank You! I wrote a personal message on the back of each card, thanking guests for attending.
