Party Recap

A masquerade ball theme at this beautiful historical venue was a perfect fit. Belle Grove Plantation at Port Conway in King George, Virginia is the birthplace of president James Madison. It is now a bed and breakfast and event venue. Michelle and Brett have been restoring the property for years and also offer guided tours.

The photoshoot was organized by Tamara Riley of Raven's Betrothed, an offbeat wedding blog. She is also a very popular officiant in the state of Virginia through her company No Ordinary Ordained. She had a vision for three different wedding photoshoots including this one, and she asked us to be a part of it. She is such a joy to be around, the venue is beautiful, and the ideas were amazing so how could we say no?

We created new topiary styles for us for this photoshoot that played on a Moulin Rouge theme we did a couple of years ago. The masks are in no way glued so they come right off the topiaries when its time to eat them and they can be worn.

Amanda and Garrett were amazing models as usual, these real life newlyweds have been in nearly a dozen wedding shoots this year in addition to their wedding. They've become total pros! They are so funny behind the scenes and make the process so fun.

Blush Salon and Spa in King George provided hair and make up not only for Amanda but for several of the bridesmaid models (not pictured.) They will be opening their new location in 2017!
