Party Recap
Every year, I love to celebrate my boy/girl twins, Mason and Ellaina. This year, with our crazy lives, we opted to have a smaller celebration at home and have a BBQ for their fourth birthday!
Of course, I needed to make it special, and celebrate my tiny loves. It is very hard to come up with a neutral boy/girl theme. I knew my littles LOVE animals and the outdoors, so I came up with this awesome little Woodland Animals BBQ Birthday!
As a photographer and a creative with an Etsy shop selling printables, I created all of the party printables and printed them at my local print shop. You can find them on etsy at /www.etsy.com/ca/people/EllaLaineDesigns
I love to make my littles cakes every year. They share everything, so they each get a little cake of their own - I think its super special. I made their bear cakes. I put together the number "4"'s with twigs from our back yard, and a glue gun.
The cupcakes I ordered from a local bakery, and decorated them myself, and topped with a cupcake topper.
Everyone had a relaxing and fun time. The kids are so loved and celebrated by our family. It was the perfect day!
Party Highlights
-
What People Ate
I made Mason and Ellaina their own little cakes. I also made a beautiful strawberry/blackberry/whipped cream fruit tray and served the dip in a mini mason jar. A veggie tray was also put together with ranch dip served in a mini mason jar. My husband BBQ'd everyone hotdogs, and I made a potato salad! The kids munched on peanuts and had a blast shelling them! Super simple, layed back BBQ food!
-
What People Drank
It was a warm spring day, so I served water bottles, complete with SUPER cute printable labels. And fruit punch in a drink dispenser. Coordinating red, green and blue polka dot straws were put out for guests to use.
-
Desserts
I had two dozen vanilla cupcakes made at a local bakery, and decorated them at home with homemade buttercream icing topped with a cupcake topper.
-
Party Favors
The smore favors were super easy to do - 3 sheets of graham crackers, 8 marshmallows, and 1/4 of a large milk chocolate bar (approximately 12 squares). Tied with some garden twine, with a printable tag attached. So cute and everyone LOVED them!
-
Activities / Games
We let the kids have free reign of our yard. Nothing structured or planned. All of the cousins ran around together, and used their imaginations playing.
