It was a wonderful joint celebration for Maia who celebrated her 1st birthday together with her grandfather, Johnny, who celebrated his 81st birthday! The theme for the party was The Great Gatsby (a perfect theme for The Great Gats-baby, Maia!).
The venue was carefully chosen for its vintage-like interior as it was a pre-war building. We love the colors used to design the theme - black, gold and dark purple. Very chic and dramatic at the same time! We used plenty of bling and decor suited to the Roaring 20s - shiny table cloths, feathers, sequins, etc.
The dessert table was a stunning array of customised goodies suited to the theme. The highlight was the stunning 2 tier cake, complete with flowers and dangling pearls. The fondant cookies were so intricate and looked too good to eat! There were also cupcakes with customised toppers, Kit Kat bars with customised wrappers, Ferrero Rocher chocolates with customised holders, gold Hershey Kisses and lots more.
Along the staircase going up, we placed photos of the birthday girl from newborn to 11 months old (to showcase her growing up, up, up!).
At the entrance we placed a large welcome sign along with a coat hanger with hanging feather boas and fedora hats. Just like how it would have been in the 1920s!
For the guest tables, we placed fairy lights in mason jars along with tealight candles.
