Party Recap

My daughter Lyla's first favorite movie was Alice in Wonderland. When Halloween came around, there was no question that she world dress up as Alice. I found the sweetest little costume online that practically looked homemade. So when it was time to decide what her 3rd birthday party was going to be in February, it was just a bonus that she'd be able to wear that precious costume one more time. We kept it very simple and decided to have a tea party with assorted sandwiches, cookies and, of course, tea!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Jam Sandwiches, Egg Salad & Chicken Salad sandwiches cut in the shapes of Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades and secured with flamingo picks. Miniature quiche and two types of mushroom caps ("One side will make you grow taller and the other side will make you grow shorter!")

  • What People Drank

There was an assortment of ginger ale and seltzers. Iced tea and hot tea. My favorite part of the drink station were the glass milk jugs with mismatched floral paper straws.

  • Desserts

My sister Jyllian made these showstopper cupcakes. White, then Red & White, and finally bright Red frosting to represent the scene where they're painting the roses red for the Queen hates white roses.
