Lana's Circus themed 1st birthday

The inspiration behind my daughter Lana's first birthday was the company "My Little Carnival." I knew I wanted to hire them because I wanted the party to be fun and kid friendly. Having a circus/carnival theme was so much fun to plan since it was so versatile and could also be girly.

The event space was big so I also wanted the focal point which was the dessert table to also be big. I found a decorator to custom make the circus theme back drop and we had two dessert tables. I love desserts so this was my favorite part of the party. I made carnival themed cupcakes and rented a Ferris wheel cupcake stand, we had donuts on a circus stand, and a good variety of other circus themed yumminess. I also loved her cake, it was beautiful and delicious! One tier was Nutella and other was passion fruit.

For lunch, we catered a company called "bombdiggity dog." They served Chicago,Hawaiian, California hotdogs and burgers but we also made kimchi slaws and kojuchang aiolis to give it a Korean fusion. Fries, nachos and popcorn were served as sides to continue the circus theme. For guests who didn't eat from the grill, chicken nuggets, salad and grilled cheese sandwiches were also available.

For entertainment, there was a kiddie corner for infants and toddlers which consisted of a ball pit, obstacle course and a coloring and play dough stations. For the older kids and adults, "my little carnival," had three booths that consisted of six different games that they changed up every hour.

Since my daughter is half Korean, we had the Doljabi game which is a tradition where the birthday girl chooses an object in front of her and that object represents her future profession. Lana chose a gavel, so maybe she'll be a lawyer or a judge.
