Party Recap

Karoline loves all things Frozen - as all little girls seem to right now!

Guests were welcomed with a fabric banner, made by my mother.

I wanted to create a magical Frozen party without totally blowing the budget, so I decided to create a fluffy backdrop with Frozen colors as my starting point. I used strips of tulle, fabric and mesh ribbon to create a backdrop by typing strips onto a ribbon. I then hung onto an existing curtain rod. I loved the effect, but wanted some snowflakes mixed in, so I bought a set off icicle/snowflake lights from Amazon. I initially thought I would hang a Happy Birthday banner across it, but decided that I would do a foam board snowflake with a "4" instead and hang a birthday banner from the table.
After I did the backdrop, I moved on to the table. I used a gray tablecloth (because I already had one) with a lace overlay/runner (again - already had it). I also chose to take a teal sequined runner and place at the back of the table for a pop of color. I wanted to add some height to some of the table items. so I simply wrapped some empty boxes in frozen-ish paper and used them to sit lightweight containers on. I used two blue vintage-y bottles from Joann with Christmas branches on each side of the window. Then I added three balloons on each side. On one side of the table, Anna and Elsa stood happily looking on and near the other end, Olaf greeted guests. I mixed tulle in randomly on the table.

I used a party pack from Popobell on Etsy. The kids were having so much fun playing outside that we didn't even get to use the photo booth props or coloring pages that I had printed.

The party pack was also used for the Happy Birthday banner, labels for the water bottles, the castle on the table and the sign in the foyer.

The banner on the table in the foyer was printed (for free!) from Bakingdom.com. I made the Elsa Crown and Sven reindeer antlers by using a template from http://sisterssuitcaseblog.com - again the template was free! I printed the templates on colored cardstock, then for the crowns, I used the unused portion of the paper to trace more. I bought a pack of jewels from Michael's and used regular glue to glue them on. I used hole punches on each side and pulled ribbon through to secure the hats to the head.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

The food was served in a variety of coordinating white and silver dishes/containers. We decided to do a sandwich bar (Because "We Finish each other's sandwiches" of course). Then we did Carrots (Olaf noses) and broccoli. Strawberries (Warm hearts) and fruit, Cheeto Puffs (Sven snacks - they look like carrots) and chips.

  • What People Drank

For drinks, I went simple - I chose blue koolaid and water. I did pour in a splash of green. The pictures don't show the color very well - (I am definitely not a photographer) We used these adorable cups from 3SweetMemories on Etsy.

  • Desserts

The amazing cake was made by Creative Confections of Albany, GA. The cookies - so, so adorable were by Kakes by Karon, Leesburg, GA. I also added a fun twist - colored candy apples with Elsa, made by LeBella Cuisine of Albany. I had intially planned to display the cake on the white round stand, but didn't mention this to baker, so when I got the cake and it had a square board, I decide to use the purple cake stand instead (It was actually orange when I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby- but one can of spray paint later, it was a lovely shade of lavender!)

  • Party Favors

Dainty frozen bracelets mailed in thank you notes. Wands, crayons and wrapped candy apples at the party

  • Activities / Games

Pin the Nose on Olaf! lots of playing outside. Intended to have coloring station, but kids were too busy!
