Party Recap

I had such a blast decorating for my baby shower brunch! I'm expecting my third girl, and wanted something beautiful, delicate yet breath catching! I decided on doing a Floral Baby Shower Brunch!

I wanted the shower to be simple, so I decided on rosegold and gold colors with some white thrown in. I added some patches of artificial grass, vines and roses to accompany the beautiful colors.

This being my first brunch, I wanted to try to do a medium between breakfast and lunch foods, however, I ended up with a majority of breakfast foods, and everyone enjoyed them! My favorite decor accent I had for my food table was my patches of grass underneath the food trays. For my drink table, it would have to be my hand-painted white crates for the drink dispensers!

My favorite part of my entire shower was making the Floral Ice Cubes for my Mom-osa table! While it was a little time consuming, all the effort was completely worth it! All you need is small roses, 2 in by 2 in silicone ice cube maker, and some boiled distilled water!

I'm hoping that I can inspire other soon-to-be mothers with this beautiful floral brunch!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

All the foods I had placed out were eaten rather quickly! The foods included: Donuts on a Donut Wall, donut hole skewers, mini stacks of pancakes, chicken and waffles, waffle sticks with small cups of syrup, egg muffins, mini sausages, danishes, ham & cheese croissants, mini muffins, cheese cubes, mini sandwiches, bite-size lemon cakes, cupcakes and a 2-tier cake (white and strawberry) decorated with real roses! I would say the crowd favorite was the ham & cheese croissants!

  • What People Drank

Non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages were separated on two seperate tables, as there were children at the baby shower! For non-alcoholic beverages, I had sweet tea, lemonade, rasberry lemonade and orange juice. For Alcoholic Beverages, that was set up on the Mom-osa table! One thing I learned while researching brunches, is to have a mimosa table! I had an ice bucket with floral ice cubes surrounding 3 champagnes and 1 sparkling wine! For my champagnes, I had: Korbel Brut, Borassca Cava Brut, and Barefoot Pink Moscatto. For my bottle of sparkling wine: La Vostra Rosé, extra dry. For the juices to pair with my alcoholic beverages: Simple Made Rasberry Lemonade, Lemonade and Orange Juice. For fruit garnishes, I had strawberries, raspberries, and orange slices. These were a great addition to the drinks!

  • Desserts

Mini Lemon Cakes, Chocolate and Vanilla Cupcakes garnished with an edible wafer white flower, and a delicious two tier cake garnished with real roses!

  • Party Favors

I had such a blast making party favors! I made a DIY body scrub consisting of Himalayan Pink Salt, Coconut Oil, and Lavender essential oil! I had a mom friend give me 35 empty baby food jars, so I cleaned those out, spray painted the lids pink, added a small white unscented candle with a glitter ribbon glued around it, a small scoop to apply the scrub, and an adorable tag that said "From My Shower To Yours". It was a big hit, and some moms asked for more than one, I was glad I made extra! For the few kids who attended, I made candy goody bags for them to take home!

  • Activities / Games

The games were very fun to host! We had a total of 4 games: 1. Match the Animal Babies to Animal Mothers card game. For this, I had to make sure to announce they couldnt use google, I know the game sounds easy, but it was pretty challenging! The person with the most correct won a prize and a mini alcohol bottle. 2. Candy names to the correct scenario card game. This one was rather funny, as it had some adult humor thrown in! (Example, Conception night = Skor). The person with the most correct wins a prize and mini alcohol bottle. 3. Diaper Toss in a bucket, whoever gets the most in 2 minutes wins a prize and a mini alcohol bottle. 4. Bottle Chug! I think my guests had fun with this one the most! They choose juice or beer to chug in a baby bottle, first to finish wins a prize and mini alcohol beverage. Ome game that unfortunately didnt happen was one I really wanted to do, but unfortunately there was a mishap! I still want to share it with you, as it is a HUGE hit because of the fun twist! It's called "My Water Broke" - with a twist! You take small plastic babies and freeze them in ice cubes. The goal of the game is to thaw your ice cube the fastest to free your baby, and whoever thaws it first yells "My Water Broke!" My fun twist is the first three who yell "My Water Broke!" has to take an "epidural shot", which is a syringe shot of any alcohol, which could be fireball to vodka - or apple juice if they aren't drinking! Although I was unable to do this for my shower, I hosted it for my sisters and everyone LOVED this game! For the prizes for the above games, I had a prize bucket that included a few face masks, a face scrubber, foot scrubber, bath salts in a glass jar and a new pink sponge! I also had mini bottles of alcohol for them to choose. We also had a lottery ticket prize and a diaper raffle, the winner won a popcorn goodie bucket with lots of candy, a mini bottle of alcohol, and $25 movie theater giftcard! For the childrens game, I game them a cupcake liner and playdoh and asked them to make me playdoh babies, and whoever had the funniest or cutest baby won a prize, which consisted of a small puzzle, some candy, and 2 small toys.
