Party Recap

Oh happy day! Welcome to Jessica’s dedication day! We wanted to celebrate Jessica being dedicated with a fabulously fun and colourful celebration! Think pink and coral – bright and bold! I involved pink flamingos, palm trees, hibiscus, tropical drinks and desserts! It’s fabulously fun, hitting so many party trends!

What a pleasure and a privilege it was to create a styled shoot for the recent edition of Confetti Fair. I suggested a couple of different themes to Esther Kefaloukos – Director of Confetti Fair, and Esther loved my ‘tropical pink flamingo’ concept. The ‘dedicated to flamingos’ party will leave you dreaming of summer! It is filled with so much tropical fun, a summery menu and a delicious pink cocktail!

I was absolutely delighted to gather the best of the best in the party industry to create a stylish party. This was my first collaboration and I loved meeting new people, and getting to know my ‘old favourites’ a better too! Creating a party on your own is ok, but ‘together’ is such a wonderful experience!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

A gorgeous table setting laid await for the little ones to enjoy all the tropical fun! We created a summery menu including islander pulled pork sliders, pineapple fudge squares, and mini magnums.

  • What People Drank

I love ‘the little lemonade stand’ so much! I dreamt it. My husband built it. And we feature it at as many events as we can. It’s such fun and versatile piece of furniture, we use it mostly as a little bar. On this occasion we dressed it up as a pink flamingo cocktail lounge. Who said you can’t serve something a little fun at a kids party especially when the majority of people attending are grown-ups who love a good cocktail. The pink flamingo cocktail is super easy to make. If you were following along our instagram posts, you may remember I promised you the recipe for the pink punch flamingo cocktail…well here it is! Mix together two litres of pineapple juice, 1 litre of cranberry juice and half a cup of strawberries! Add sparkling wine, ideally Prosecco and you are all set with summer’s most refreshing beverage!

  • Desserts

This was the first event I worked together with Catie from Sweetly Baked Perth and to say I was impressed is an understatement. Catie is so enthusiastic and dedicated. Confident yet humble. I was so pleased she was eager to create something that suited the style of the party. Catie created these gorgeous pink flamingo cookies along with cute pineapple cookies too! An incredibly delicious fudge – that is so addictive! After one bite I was hooked. The baked donuts with a touch of sprinkles looked absolutely fabulous on the customised donut board.

  • Party Favors

The neon pink flamingo loot bags were a big hit at our tropical dedication celebration. Gemma and Zina from Hooray Day are passionate about providing a helping hand so you can say hooray on our special day! The natural calico bags with double straw-strings, featuring a hand painted flamingo got us shouting HOORAY! and brought smiles to all the little party guests! Ruba from Ruby Chocolate Designs designed these magnificent personalised chocolates especially for the event. The delicious milk chocolate was enjoyed by all the little party guests! I especially enjoyed the design featuring a pink flamingo and tropical foliage on fresh white premium paper.

  • Activities / Games

My outrageously attractive friend Rachael had the best time amongst this fun flamingo in what you would think is a stylish pool straight out of a five star hotel in Miami right!? guess again! it’s one of Perth Toy Hire‘s popular hexagonal ball pit! filled to the brim with approximately 2000 blue and clear balls! you can only imagine how much fun the little ones had jumping into this pool!

Party Helpers

  • Chey from oh la la balloon bar

    Balloons

Party guests were greeted at the entrance with a colourful lei to wear. A ball pit all decked out as a swimming pool, with a bright pink flamingo to say ‘aloha’ really set the scene. One of the highlights was definitely the incredible balloon installation from oh la la balloon bar. Chey used a mix of coral, pink, and gold balloons, with a sprinkling of foliage to really hit that tropical vibe. I loved the burst of colour and sense of fun it brought to the party!

  • Lisa from Cakes to Celebrate by Lisa

    Cake designer

The extravagant cake topped with a golden pineapple elevated on a golden cake stand was an absolute showstopper and designed by my go-to cake designer Lisa from Cakes 2 Celebrate by Lisa. Two tiers of white chocolate mud cake with layers of passionfruit ganache, all topped off with a glitzy golden pineapple. All of Lisa’s cakes, cookies and desserts are custom made and baked with expertise, coordinating colours and taking consideration of the design of each party. You can see why I contact Lisa for every party!

  • Leanne from Dream a Little Dream

    Hire

What a dream it was to collaborate with Leanne from Dream a little Dream. Leanne’s mini ghost chairs assisted me with hitting the transparent decor trend. I love that it gives the illusion of a floating effect. Leanne also generously provided a white flamingo to welcome everyone into the flamingo cocktail lounge, and cake stands to give all the desserts the pedestal they deserved.

  • Shelley from FavorLane

    Partyware

When I set a table I like to make sure it looks as chic as possible. I want the party guests to be wowed immediately. I like to go all out designing a tablescape that is stylish and unique, I involve Shelley from Favor Lane Party Boutique each and every time. I would be silly not to. Shelley ensures that she has the latest trends available and sources tableware and decor from all around the world.

On this occasion I wanted to pretty up our little table setting with colour, pattern and crazy cool texture. I always start with plates, and am quite literally in love with Shelley’s round ‘oh happy day’ range. I teamed a neon coral plate with a blush topper. Neon coral cup topped with a gold straw. I couldn’t go past the eco friendly tropical wooden cutlery.

I mixed up the tablescape with some pink palm leaves for layers of texture and colour. We could practically feel the island breeze when we added the tropical colourful flowers in pineapple vases. The prettiest pink flamingo place cards with the party guests names etched in gold took the tablescape from tropical to tropical glam in an instant.

The tropical party printables carried right through from the water bottle, cup and menu for each setting. Shelley’s pink flamingo glasses brought the table to life and delivered the fun factor for the little ones to enjoy!

  • Kate Johnson

    Photographer

Kate Johnson is an exceptionally talented photographer. I love that Kate is always up for trying something new. Kate is not afraid of getting out of the box and getting creative. This shoot is a perfect example of of that. Kate far exceeded my expectations with this shoot, investing time to take care of every business involved by capturing their product well – as the heart of her business is to assist others in making their business flourish. Kate was quick to build a great rapport with our super hot model Rachael Gouvignon and captured her beautifully on some many different occasions.

  • Simone from The Social Vue

    Graphic Designer

Simone from The Social Vue is an incredibly talented designer who took my vision and brought it to life with this super stylish tropical design. Simone created a magnificent welcome sign, along with a fabulous sign for the little lemonade stand, a gorgeous double-sided invitation, food labels, menus and bottle labels. I loved how Simone incorporated a pink flamingo, pineapple, tropical flowers and foliage to the design and delivered so many pieces that the party guests enjoyed throughout the event.

  • Lisa from etched

    Graphic Designer

Did you know: birds of a feather eat donuts together? Especially when they see a custom made donut board by Lisa from etched. Lisa’s creativity continued with a custom neon flamingo sign, and hot pink flamingo cocktail stirrers! Jessica’s name was set centre stage directly onto the backdrop behind the dessert bar for a floating effect. All the acrylic items were beyond fabulous, creative and fun! I personally loved the little pale pink flamingo name cards set at each table setting, each one personalised. Thats right every little party guests name was etched in gold on a pretty pink flamingo!

  • Rachael Gouvignon

    Model

Rachael Gouvignon, Bachelor in Paradise’s hottest star stepped off the set in Fiji and on to our tropical island set and I tell you what Rachael exceeded my expectations. Rachael and I have been friends since we were ten, and I knew she would be the perfect model for this shoot. But I tell you what she went above and beyond. Yep, she is absolutely stunning, but also so much fun and willing to go the extra mile. Offering to wear a company t-shirt! Agreeing to wear silly flamingo glasses! Jumping into a ball pit with a big pink flamingo. No request was too much – thanks Rach!

  • Jasmin from Market Fresh & co

    Florist

Jasmin from Market Fresh & co hit the floral party trend by working in with the venue. Interesting features like the welcome sign, the little lemonade stand, and donut board all inspired a unique floral statement. Wild and textured tropical arrangements stood tall on the table setting all captured within custom made pineapple vases. They are easily my most favourite floral arrangements.

  • Miquelina from Sweet Encounter Hire

    Hire

Sweet Encounter Events Hire‘s white peacock style cane chair with faux fur pillow brought tropical fun and a touch of boho chic. Like a flamingo it stood tall from the crowd. It’s a statement piece that immediately added an island paradise feel to the event. Rachael had fun sitting in this fabulous chair enjoying some of the fabulous treats!
