Party Recap

This was my sweet girl's first birthday so it had to be special! I decked out every room guests would see (even the bathroom) with butterflies, polka dots and flowers - all in a pink and green motif. The dollar store, Hobby Lobby and Michael's became second homes while I scoured for sweet details to make this party perfect. I wrapped all the hanging photos and artwork in our home to look like giant presents and that added to the festive feel. I kept the food simple but added thoughtful touches like organic baby food pouches and toddler-friendly snacks for the kiddos. A GREAT time was had by all. Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Kept the menu simple with croissant sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, and fruit salad.

  • What People Drank

Drinks were color-coordinated to the pink and green motif - strawberry guava punch and (green tinted) lemonade. Plus, tropical ice tea, blueberry-lemon infused water and bottles of plain water. I put out old-time milk bottles with pink-striped paper straws and (brand-new, sterilized) sippy cups for the kids.

  • Best Moment

The party was a great time so picking one moment is next to impossible. But it sure was precious seeing the look on my girl's face as she smashed into her very own cake.

  • Best Dressed

The birthday girl, of course! Her ensemble was comletely color coordinated to match her special day. A precious pink petti romper with a matching blinged out floral headband and too-cute barefoot sandals on her pudgy feet!

  • Desserts

Gorgeous chocolate cupcakes topped with Swiss meringue and fondant butterflies, mini-milkshakes, assorted cookies and an adorable marble sheet cake with matching "smash" cake for the birthday girl!

  • Party Favors

One of the party-favors also served as a party activity. I laid out bundles of blank note cards and envelopes, markers and child-safe ink pads and had families stamp their baby's feet (in the shape of a butterfly, of course) as a keepsake favor. Kids also kept their sippy cups from the beverage station, and little guests got bubbles and board books too. But I think everyone agreed that the best favor was the bountiful candy buffet where guests could fill their bags with endless sweet treats.

  • Activities / Games

Baby foot stamping for a precious memento kept guests occupied and all of the birthday girl's toys were out for the playing pleasure of the kids in attendance.

  • Budget

    $350
