Party Recap

For my sons 1st birthday party we decided to throw a Beach Bash since he loves spending time at the beach. We wanted to keep it beach/surfer theme so we took the party to the sand. We were able to set up a tent with a great view of the water. Under the tent we set up a few tables- one to house the food we got catered in, the dessert table and gift/party favor table. For the food we kept it all small bites. Stuff both the kids and adults would love. We felt like mini corn dogs, sliders and deli pinwheels all felt very beachy and like food you would get at the boardwalk. We kept the drinks simple with lemonade, fruit punch and juice boxes for the kids. For the dessert table we set up our cake at the pinnacle piece. The cake was adorned with a cute surfboard with the number 1 on there for his first birthday. We were able to find a bunch of beach themed candy for the rest of the table - surfboard lollipops, beach ball hard candy, gummy fish and sour worms. We had gift bags set aside for everyone to take some goodies home. The gift table had a customized FIRSTS chalkboard frame that stated all of my sons 1st for the year. We set up all the gift bags there as well. For each of the kids we had beach buckets full of the essentials needed to build the perfect sandcastle and have a fun day at the beach. We set up beach chairs, blankets and umbrellas in front of the tent for the kids and adults to hang out and eat. For further decoration we brought two surfboards and set them up as a photo collage with my sons monthly birthday shots. Luckily it wasn't too windy that day so the boards stayed up the entire time. Also as an extra touch we brought in an easel to display the beach conditions for the party. We were able to use that location with the surfboards and easel as a photo area and got photos of my son and all his guest there. The party was a big success and we are so happy to share it with everyone.
