Party Recap

This was our 5th annual halloween party and while I typically have a generic halloween theme going, Once we figured our our costumesI knew I wanted to switch things up and have a Hocus Pocus theme. It’s such a fun halloween movie and so many details to play with! We watched the movie on repeat to help figure out a fun menu and decorations and of course our costumes! From dead man's toes and lucky rat tails to Sanderson Sister's Specialty cocktails, it was a bunch of Hocus Pocus kinda party!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Lots of food! But the themed food included dead man's toes hot dogs, zombie eye meatballs, sloppy joe and a "child on toast" (raspberry preserve and cream cheese toast), Lucky Rat Tail Slim Jims.

  • What People Drank

Sanderson Sister's Specialty Cocktails. I tried to stick with the colors of the sisters cloaks to theme the drink and just looked for recipes to fit! "Life Potion" - apple cider and lemonade with greed food coloring! Burning Rain of Death Water

  • Desserts

An amazing spell book cake that looked just like the real thing! Spell book brownies, Thackery Binx cookies, Lucky Rat Tail Twizzlers, Shish ka-baby fruit kabobs and fingers of a man named Clark (Clark bars).

  • Party Favors

Kids received goody bags with glow sticks, stickers, spider rings and other halloween treats. Plus witches broom pens (my favorite Oriental Trading item ever!)

  • Activities / Games

Kids played a bean bag toss and witches hat ring toss. But the main event, as always, was the costume contest!

Hi all! Sorry for the delay! I'll have to look and see if I can find the printable files for this one. It was 5 years and one computer ago so I'll have to do some digging through old files!

I made the costume! Just a red sweatshirt with felt glued on the make the designs and a plain black skirt with some embellishments glued on!
