Party Recap
This party turned out exactly as planned (minus the birthday girl being sick). We had it at a local culinary center that had a room to rent. They catered which turned out so yummy. We had crab dip, tea sandwiches, mini wraps, croissant sandwiches, veggies and dip, fruit/cheese tray, chip and pretzels. For dessert we had cupcakes. For drinks we had water, lemonade and juice boxes for the kids. We also had a hot chocolate bar with mini marshmallows, chocolate chips and caramels. We also had whipped cream and peppermints but forgot to put them out. The hot chocolate was made in the crock pot.
I made most of my own decorations using the cricut. We had the highchair banner, birthday banner, and the picture banner. There were some balloons and I also had a chalkboard sign which I purchased off of etsy and printed off at Walmart in a size 16x20. I think I bought a frame and framed it.
For activities we had snowflake decorating. I got the large foam snowflakes from Oriental Trading and then bought sequences, stickers and glitter glue for decorating. We also had build your own snowman with marshmallows, pretzel sticks and candy. Then we had a game of pin the carrot on the snowman. I made the snowman out of poster board and cardstock and cut the carrots out of cardstock. Last we had a wish tree. This was kids and adults to write on a snowflake a wish (or anything they wanted to say) to the birthday girl and I will be putting the snowflakes away and giving them to the birthday girl to read on her 18th birthday.
For party favors we had a candy bar. I found purple and silver candy (since party colors were purple and silver). Most candy and plastic dishes (didn't want glass b/c of the kids) from Party City. I also got some candy from Bass Pro Shop. We had hershey kisses (regular and dark), gum balls, pixie sticks, licorice, taffy, and lollipops. We also had an adoption center. The kids were able to pick a winter friend that wanted to adopt. There were polar bears, seals, and penguins all wearing hats and scarves. I got the winter friends from Oriental Trading.
