Party Recap

A Green spooky Fashion Dinosaur party was the brief given to me by my excited 3 year old for his 4th Birthday. This was actually such a great theme and i had so much fun putting it together! "Fashion" meant everyone got dressed up, you could come dressed up as, green, spooky or dinosaur, or green spooky dinosaur if you could manage it!!

Pintrest was my best friend, as i crafted my way through all the elements for this party. These elements included:

Handmade dinosaur party hats for the table- with spikes alternating in black and red.

Plastic mason jars with flower lids, wrapped in black spooky material and tied with string. the straws had alternating green and black spooky printables from La Balla Carta.

The back of each chair had a monster inspired eye attached with double sided tape. (By now i was wishing there were only a few kids coming....)

The dessert table, had an amazing cake by Finesse Cakes, as well as green spooky eye cupcakes.

I saved some tree trunks from a tree we recently cut down in our back garden, and sealed the trunks, so i could use them for the main dessert table.

The green jellies and green custard cups, were made by me, and then topped with crushed Oreos. I simply decorated the front of the cups with a marker pen!

the 3 balloons as the backdrop were 40cm/15 inch balloons, which is so much cheaper than the large 90cm/35 inch alternatives, but bigger than your average balloon. These were helium filled, and then i drew on some "spooky" faces.

You cant miss the huge watermelon monster!!! I just drew on the shape that i wanted and got to work with the cutting! I then scooped out the inside, so that the head wasn't too top heavy, and then once i had cut out the teeth, i could place some of the watermelon back inside for eating. For the eyes, i used blueberries!

The lolly bags i made by painting on the hair with black paint, and then my 3 year old helped me stick on all the eyes, and we drew on the other details with a marker pen. I then used matching tissue paper inside the cups and then added lollies.

To set the theme before the kids arrived, i decorated our front doors with Monster inspired decorations. This was actually just cutting out tissue paper for hair and using paper plates and my cuttlebug machine for the eyes!

Everyone had a great day - and it was so fun seeing all the costumes!
