GIGI TURNS 4!

My daughter, Gigi, celebrated her 4th Birthday with a very spotty Ladybug themed party. Her little guests were treated to hot dogs,mini quiche and sparkling apple cider. They enjoyed games and prizes in the park with the most amazing weather Brisbane has to offer. The highlight of the party had to be Gigi's Ladybug Dessert table, put together by myself (her mummy) under my Brisbane based business, Miss Polly Had A Lolly. Her table this year consisted of both White Chocolate Oreo Pops and Dark Chocolate Rainbow Oreo Pops, Jelly Cake Balls, Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes, Homemade Sherbet Cones...yes, the sherbet and the marshmallow were all homemade! I also added 'Ladybug Bites' which were Gigi's favourite combination of watermelon, strawberries and blueberries in a cup. Gigi's talented Aunty Cherie made her Ladybug Birthday Cake! • IT'S FINALLY HER DAY!

  Being the daughter of a dessert table stylist, Gigi has watched me create some pretty amazing tables for other people. Finally it was her turn, her special day and she couldn't wait to have me create something one of a kind, just for her. She had spent the day with her aunt in her garden which I'm sure was the catalyst for her request that I put together a 'Ladybug table'. Two weeks later and voila! It was bright, it was fun and it was very spotty! Her Aunt even made her a special ladybug birthday cake which sat front and centre. All in all, it was a fabulous day!

• THE STYLIST'S FAVOURITE ITEM ON THE TABLE.

  If I had to choose something non-food related as my favourite styling piece on Gigi's table, it would have to be those magical grass placemats with the yellow flowers on them. I literally built the entire table around them. They added that bit of whimsy that children really love and I can remember nearly every one of Gigi's guests having to touch them as they walked past!
