Party Recap

“For my sons fourth birthday he decided he wanted to have a Monsters University Party based on one of his favorite characters, Mike Wazowski. We had seen this movie so many times and we all loved the University theme that went along with this prequel. So I thought it was actually perfect because his birthday is the same week kids go back to school! I was able to make all the kids goodie bags filled with school supplies and of course candy. Instead of using regular bags, I used pencil cases to fill with all the goodies for the kids. The tone of the party was set with the Monsters University Inspired Invitations that congratulated all his monster friends in their acceptance into the School of Scaring. The children were all given ID cards that I made using a template I found on pixar place. They all loved seeing their pictures and names on the ID cards! All the children were split up into the four greek teams (OK, ROR, PNK, HSS) for the start of the scare games. The played a relay race, bean bag toss game, and a target practice game. Each tabl e was decorated with flags that belonged to a certain fraternity or sorority and scream cans. The scream cans were made with pringles cans that I spray painted yellow and using black, silver, and red card stock to make the details. For the cake table the main focus is on the chalkboard style backdrop. I took a canvas board, spray painted it with chalkboard paint, and using several colors of chalk drew in the design. I used a wooden letter F, painted it green, and covered it with google eyes to create a monster style letter. A lot of the inspiration for this party came from the movie as well as using chalkboards to give it a cool school feel. By using small chalkboard signs and even regular black card stock to mimic the look of a chalkboard I was able to pull the design together”.

Hi Ayanna! Thank you so much for the lovely compliment! I typed these letters up myself, having the Monsters University logo on both the letter and envelope really added a special touch.
