Party Recap

“Ooh La La ... Who likes being fancy? Unique, one of a kind...?”
All little girls want to be fancy, like tutus, and bows, lots of fake jewelry, hats, sunglasses, boas, and butterfly wings, and of course my daughter, Shadlynn, is not an exception. She wants everything fancy, and she started dreaming about her 5th birthday, from January, while she’s an August girl! She wanted a Fancy Nancy Birthday, and to be honest my inner child loved that too! So I started dreaming as well!
I chose the theme color based on Disney’s Fancy Nancy’s outfit, yellow, magenta and teal, and added a pastel version of them too to soften the very bright colors. The main items I worked around included tutus, ballet, butterflies, pearls, feathers, and of course Eiffel Tower
For the backdrop I thought of the ending credits of the cartoon that a bow’s long ribbon tails go around the screen and they’re mixed with flowers, and pearls, boas, and butterflies.
I made a big velvet bow with long ribbon tails, as well as a 3tier chandelier to hang from the huge 12 ft tall balloon arch with lots of butterflies. (The balloon garland was 40ft long) The chandelier resembled Fancy Nancy, with a boa around her neck (on top hoop), a pearl necklace and bows in the middle, as well as a tutu on the lower tier.
A white Eiffel Tower was displayed on a fancy side table with a spray rose miniature garland wrapped around it, and pearls.
Also I made a cute photo booth prop, a pair of butterfly wings stand made of lots of tulle and feathers to match my daughter’s tutu dress.
The table was picked to bring Fancy Nancy’s dresser to mind, with a fancy drawer that boas and pearls were hanging out of.
Of course the table wouldn’t look perfect without the beautiful cake and pastries in collaboration with Behnaz of Joconde Patisserie. The cake was a soft pastel yellow with magenta and blue pearl arrangements, as well as delicate butterflies and of course a big bow! The ballet cookies were hanging from a carousel jewelry stand, and the Eiffel Tower macarons were placed in clear jewelry drawers filled with pearls. The details were quite a lot too name all.
What matters the most to me is that my daughter loved everything about her birthday, and she felt the fanciest girl in the whole wide world!
I hope all girls, including my Shadlynn, feel they’re beautiful inside and out, they’re loved, and there’s always someone that cares for them and they mean the world to their family, no matter how they look, what they wear or do. That’s the fanciest life a girl can live!
