Each time I walk past my neighbours yard I always pause to look at Moses the horse in his beautiful paddock. I can't help but imagine an autumn (Fall) dessert table right out the front, under the falling leaves and rustic wooden fence. Finally I had the opportunity to create my imaginary table and filled it with delicious winter flavoured treats. My daughters were perfect little models and even Mosey the horse cooperated beautifully, posing exactly where I needed him!

What People Ate
I baked quite a few delicious treats for my dessert table, starting with a chocolate bourbon feature cake with brightly coloured flowers on top. I also made orange and poppy seed cupcakes with homemade candied orange slices on top. For a fun treat the kids and I put nutty trail mixes into mason jars with golden deer lids. In keeping with my favourite winter flavours, I made a gingerbread cake with poached pears and caramel sauce. Another feature cake had a simple white buttercream frosting with candied orange slices placed down the side. The children helped me make chocolate chip cookies and enjoyed snacking on caramel corn and ginger cream biscuits.
