Elizabeth's Finding Nemo 1st Birthday Party!

We held Elizabeth's party in Austin, TX although were living in the Orlando, FL area at the time. We decided to plan a family trip and have her party then to make sure Rob's side of the family was able to attend. To tell you that this took more than a month of planning was an understatement! It's WAY harder than I thought to plan a long-distance party. I ordered and shipped a lot of the items to my sister-in-law's house ahead of time, and did last minute shopping when I was there. The night before and day of were CRAZY! I don't think I sat down with all the prep work I was doing. It was a lot of work, but I love doing this sort of thing!

As I'm always on a budget, a lot of the stuff I found I got at the Dollar Tree (the stuffed fish animals, containers for the candy, etc.) or I ordered from Oriental Trading. I made a lot of things myself with my graphic design skills and printouts I found from the Internet, as well as ideas from Pintrest (of course!). Everyone had a fabulous time and I was definitely complimented on my hard work!

  Pizza, chips, pasta salad.

• What People Drank

  Various sodas, beer, wine (for the adults!)

• Desserts

  Cake pops (these didn't turn out super pretty - I will probably NEVER make them again - but they tasted great!), cookies, cupcakes, candy, chocolate Nemo cake.

• Party Favors

  Other than candy from the dessert table, the kids got to take home some of the stuffed animals and some fish toys, as well as bubbles and stickers.

• Activities / Games

  It was a nice day in Austin, so we played some hide and seek and tag outside with the older kids! :)
