Party Recap

We recently just moved away from all our friends and family in New Jersey to a small town in central Illinois. I knew I definitely wanted to have something for my son's first birthday but I knew it would have to be very simple since we don't have too many people to invite. I decided on just a dessert table and what better than Milk and Cookies! I didn't want to spend a large amount since it would only be about 6 of us so I kept it very simple and used mostly things I had in the house. I only had a couple of things made that I ordered on Etsy. The birthday banner from Toadally Cute Parties and the cupcake toppers from Paper Party Parade. I picked up a couple of old milk bottles from my local antique shop and some block letters from Hobby Lobby that I painted.I had some pictures printed in black and white at WalMart for the picture banner. Also purchased some lanterns at Party City for decorations. Other than that everything I else I had around the house or from previous parties.I used the natural backdrop of out home to play into the party by placing the tables around an old wagon and our western style shed. I knew I wanted to show his growth over the past year through pictures and I used lots of those! Recently I saw a post here on Catch my Party where the hostess used jars to display some of her pictures and I fell in love with the idea.In the end I only spent about 70 dollars including all the food. I loved the way it turned out, it could not have been any cuter :)
