Party Recap
Luke has loved Curious George ever since we first turned on the movie (desperately trying everything on Netflix to calm him) when he was 4 months old. Soon the movies, TV show, and books took over our lives, and we knew it would be the perfect theme for his 1st birthday. I didn’t get to do half the decorations I had planned because Luke spiked a fever and was miserable the whole day before, day of, and after. It was such a blur of a day, but once his fever broke that night he was able to enjoy what was left of the party at home. Like all of our parties, I like to use decorations that I can use again for my house, as toys, etc (rather than typical party decorations). I had guests sign a Curious George and the Birthday Suprise book to have as a keepsake, had a variety of Curious George paperback books for guests to choose from, and a canvas with sticker spelling (Curious Luke is One) for kids to paint over so we could have a keepsake for Luke’s playroom. I found a lot of decorations on Zulily when they featured Curious George, and I used pictures from his first year as decorations to celebrate his life thus far. I also used books and toys as centerpieces that Luke could keep as presents afterwards! We incorporated his favorite parts of the movie, tv show, and books for his party.
