Party Recap

What to do when celebrating the girl whose favorite thing in the world is her beloved "PUPAY?" Make the party all about the sweet stuffed pup!

One morning it dawned on me while watching her play with PUPAY. I always choose what they love!

I love the whimsy and personal!

Now that I had a theme, it was time to get to work! Or, as I like to say, "Add the Shugah."
First, I set out on the important quest of finding party printables that went along with what I was creating in my head. I saw this image of the adorable blonde girl and pup, and decided it was PeRfEcT! And not just for the party!
(Sidenote: I HAD to have a new business card created with the sweet girl and pup! I mean... SHUGAH and spice? Snails and puppy dog "TALES"? It's what your parties are made of!)

The gem of an image was found on Etsy from the Homespun Hostess. http://instagram.com/homespunhostess Online, the party set with the image was red and blue. Since those were the main colors for Ruby's party last year (Wizard of Oz) and PUPAY is white with pink spots, I had to think of a color that would compliment pink and really POP! The date of the party fell on March 17th (St. Paddy's Day!), so it was an obvious choice...MINT!!! HSH was very easy to work with! I highly recommend her! The party package included everything you could wish for to throw the perfect party! She quickly responded to my inquiries and requests!

My local QuikPrint is always my choice for my party printables. The customer service is beyond!

I found the PERFECT dress from http://instagram.com/beautifulbowsboutiquecomIt doesn't get more precious than this! I mean...Tulle and cuteness for DAYS!

Oh my stars!

God Bless my Mama! AKA "Nona."
She creates ALL of the treats for her grandbabies birthday parties! She puts incredible thought and preparation into creating the perfectly themed treats! Our Ruby was diagnosed with peanut and egg allergies when she was eight months old. Leave it to Nona to hunt down the yummiest alternatives that taste even better!
(Hint: soda can replace eggs!)

Nona knew my vision of displaying a doghouse on the dessert table. She ordered a raw wood house and painted it to match! What a showpiece! No wonder she has a successful booth in a local shop!

Sturdy cups and and lids came from a local restaurant supply store. http://instagram.com/tulsarestaurantequipment
Our dear friends own this store that is fun-filled with goodies! The basket holding the favor sacks was also purchased there. They are an incredible resource for favor packaging as well!

The lovely photographs were taken by my incredibly talented shutterbug and dear friend Anna. I am so happy for her taking the leap into starting a photography adventure! She captures memories in a beautiful way! http://instagram.com/veraisonpics

Our friends and family rock and always bring the happy when they are celebrating with us, and boy, have there been lots of parties and showers the past 7 years that they have shown up for!

I couldn't ask for a better family. The day before Ruby's party, GF ended treatments for an illness. It was so joyous to be able to celebrate the ringing of the bell too!

I will never forget it takes a village, and I am forever grateful for mine!

Irish Setter Sherbet Freeze (Lime Sherbet & clear soda) "Sit" Strawberry Lemonade

  • Party Favors

Adopt a Puppy Favor Table! Guests could choose their puppy from the basket, then get a sack that held a puppy adoption certificate for them (or their grownup) to fill out! Puppies were taken around to the fun stations after they were adopted!

  • Activities / Games

Puppy Stations and Puppy Toys Galore! If you want to keep your party fun, you gotta keep 'em busy! I love to create themed stations/activities for kid parties. My friend Kim, who teaches tots, kept leaving boxes of vet toys on my porch. It was unsolicited and awesome! Did you know they make toy x-rays? I sure didn't! I found puppy loofahs, brushes, barrettes, and bottles for the grooming station at a dollar shop. The rest came straight outta the playroom!

I will cry if I type more about my Mom. She is the BEST. Nuff said.

  • Peter

    Other

My husband is awesome. He knows the day of a party, whether one at our house, or one for a client, that I am out of commission. He juggles all three earthlings and listens to my imagination run wild on a daily basis. It is not uncommon for him to come from work and see that I have painted the shutters, moved furniture, etc. He is the yin to my yang.

  • Abbey

    Assistant

Sweet Abbey was my right hand. She cut the banner, helped set up, entertained kids, and was so much fun to be around. She is so genuine, it is no wonder my kids adore her!

  • Kim

    Other

There would be no Abbey if it weren't for one of the people I admire the most, my Kim! She dropped off party goodies, brought donuts for us the morning of the party, helped set up, did adorable chalk art, kept me sane, and lots of other stuff I know I'm forgetting. I'm all the more grateful! There is not enough available space for me to type and tell you about what an amazing and strong woman she is.
