Cinderella DIY

The theme was Cinderella. Dollarama, Dollar Tree and Michaels Crafts were the go to for this party. All decorations were do it yourself using products from the above stores and items that I already had. The backdrop was four thick white poster boards glued gunned and taped together covered with Dollar Tree wrapping paper. The gold curtains are also a dollar item, a round plastic tablecloth. All the silhouettes were printed out black and white, cut out and then re-traced onto cardstock and cut out again. The wooden frame is from Michaels.

• What People Ate

  The jewellry boxes were boxes I already had painted with Dollar store Spun Gold coloured paint. The cones for the candy are made from 12 x 12 damask craft paper on sale at Michaels for 20 cents. I cut the paper into eight triangles, and shaped them into cones. They were fitted into wrapped Styrofoam. Cinderella pearls were mint oreo cookies mixed with cream cheese and dipped in white candy melts. Other treats were rice krispie glass slippers, popcorn fairy godmother stardust, scour pad crackers with crispy croustad shells as buckets filled with dip, shortbread cookies made into buttons, large pretzels, jello. The cakes were mini individual three layered French Vanilla boxed cake mix cake layered with homemade lemon cheesecake mousse.
