Cinco de Quarantin-o

What is it about Cinco de Mayo that we love so much?! Is it the delicious tacos? The tasty drinks? or maybe the music?
Overall I do know we have a love and appreciation for such a beautiful culture, and the fact that we get to celebrate it by eating mouth watering foods and sipping refreshing drinks is just a cherry on top! Cinco de Mayo is the ultimate “Adulting” holiday, and this year looks a little different for all of us but we wanted to send a little inspiration your way with our Cinco de Quarantin-o fiesta we put together for our familia!

We based our table decor around our eye popping backdrop! Which only took TWO items to actually make, Post it! Notes and a glue stick! By adding paper fans around the backdrop it created wholeness and kicked up the spice in the overall space.

We loved mixing different elements to create a unique style to our Mexican fiesta, tossing in beautiful vintage plates (thrift store find!) while keeping our flower vases very simple (café bustelo cans and delmonte cans) giving it a laidback backyard edge, for our fun vivid drinks we used our Dollar Store glassware! Keeping everything very affordable and accessible.

In all we hope to inspire you to make the most of this time spent with your family! Let’s take this opportunity the world has given us to just PAUSE our crazy hectic schedules and make some churros with our little ones, learn to dance salsa in our living rooms, have a margarita (or 3) before 5pm!   Ceviche was served! Of course we couldn't go without Mexican street tacos, along with chips & salsa!

• What People Drank

  Virgin smoothies for the little ones, as well as Jarritos flavored sodas! But us parents definitely enjoyed some hand crafted spiced Mangonadas Margaritas.

  Homemade Churros served with Ice cream!
