A luxury Christmas inspired wedding shoot

St George's the Regency style room at The Lanesborough was the venue for this dreamy red and gold Christmas Day inspired shoot featuring some of the best wedding suppliers in the world.

Luxury wedding and event planner, Audrey Ametis of Audrey Ametis Weddings, the brains behind the shoot envisioned a beautiful bride with a love for colour and opulence getting married at the most wonderful time of the year.
Red is associated with meanings of love, passion, family, desire, vibrance and radiance. Gold represents wealth and luxury and together these colours provided a stunning backdrop for this sophisticated and luxurious shoot.

The very talented Miriam of Miriam Faith Floral Design used velvety deep red roses, rannunculi, anemones, carnations and greenery to create a beautiful tablescape runner of cascading florals. For the ceremony area she created a carpet of red flower heads and a pair of dome shaped arrangements painstakingly made with hundreds of red roses displayed on pedestals either side of the aisle.

As red is an intense colour that is packed with emotion, Audrey carefully selected and layered different hues of red and gold in the flatware, cutlery, crystal, chairs and damask linen cleverly using textures and contrast. The table styled to perfection, was completed with the addition of very cute tiered cookies in gift boxes, made by Lisa of Little Fancies and heavenly scented candles from Rachel Vosper.

Elizabeth Solaru of Elizabeth's Cake Emporium supplied the cakes and cupcakes. The trio of cakes included a 7 tier show stopper cake in two shades of red and trimmed with gold. An innovative torn paper design, it included the use of actual edible sugar sheets featuring love poems and Christmas messages. Elizabeth also handcrafted deep red sugar roses and edible gold leaves which set off the design beautifully. The other two cakes were a crackle cake topped with chocolate shards painted gold and red roses and a 4 tier cake in red featuring a marbled tier and a tier doted with 24 carat gold leaf.

The beautiful model's hair was coiffed to perfection by Errol Douglas MBE, acknowledged to be one of the best hairdressers in the world. He created very soft and loose waves for the elegant tiara worn by the model. His team of make artists headed by Emily Burrill expertly applied natural make up gave the model a fresh, dewy look.

For the first look, the model wore a dress from the aptly named Valentini Collection by J'aton from The Wedding Club. The asymmetrical deep V neck ruffle dress featured a delicate glitter spun web like fabric and 3D floral lace. The silk brocade second dress from Zuhair Murad was more traditional with its scooped neck, cap sleeves and big ball gown. Very befitting for the regal Queen's Entrance (named because only the Queen is permitted to use that particular door) of The Lanesborough.

The awesome ruby red jewelled shoes were supplied by Emmy London and the magnificent engagement ring and matching wedding band was from Mayfair Jewellers.

All this was beautifully captured by fine art photographer Jodi Hanagan through her magical lens.

We can all agree that this bold Christmas Day wedding inspiration shoot is one many brides will find very inspirational
