Celina's Cat Pawty

When your child is obsessed with cats but knows we can never have one due to allergies, you make up for it by granting her wishes of a purrfect birthday pawty!

I accepted the challenge despite my initial pushback once I put together a color palette. I knew I wanted to step out of the box of the traditional cat parties I was finding throughout my research for inspiration. Pink is usually non-negotiable and once we settled on hot pink, mixing orange, chartreuse, and purple took the theme on a cute, retro neon journey. I started running with the retro twist by adding the plaid table runner, yarn textures, bubble candlestick holders, and of course, disco balls.

One of the my favorite elements of the party were the cat puns at the bar. We named the area the "CATalina Meow Mixer" (I mean, c'mon - LOL) with two signature cocktails: the Meowscow Mule and Apawrol Spritz.

Before heading home, the children were able to adopt kittens as their party favor. Included in their adoption swag bags were personalized certificates to make it official, goldfish (crackers) cat food, a light-up kitty necklace, a kitty ear headband, and a squish.

To make the event even more memorable, Celina lost her first tooth the evening of her party. I guess you can say she was 'feline' the love from the Tooth Fairy the next morning!

  Our CATalina Meow Mixer bar included two signature drinks: a Meowscow Mule and Apawrol Spritz.

  A beautifully decorated-to-theme funfetti cake with Oreo filling, decadent chocolate cupcakes, impeccably iced sugar cookies, and the best macarons.
