Celebrate Back to School
ByParty Recap
Back to School season is a great time to celebrate for both little scholars and parents alike!
I hosted a festive back to school party for my little ones and a few friends. It was easy to pick the color palette of primary colors - red, yellow and blue.
Easy decor was next with a balloon garland fitted with 12", 9" and 5" latex balloons. A tissue paper tassel garland in red, yellow and blue was easy too! My foil A B C balloons were an easy add as well and perfectly reusable. I keep the alphabet of these 14" high balloons on hand for all my parties.
I shared a little welcome message with guests on my felt board. Another way I made guests feel special was with their milk bottle and cupcake place cards that I wrote on penmanship practice slips that I found at the dollar store. These sweet little paper slips make perfect cupcake wrappers and can be used later to drawing and writing.
I wanted to show how fun celebrating the new school year can be, so I served sweet and savory peanut butter and strawberry jelly cupcakes, strawberry, blueberry and pineapple fruit kabobs, red apples and ice cold milk.
The children were entertained with a special An Apple For My Teacher Note project where they got to write a bit about what they hope to learn in the school year. I loved connecting the party with the bright months ahead to ease any anxiety about the transition back to school.
I was so pleased with the results of my back to school party and hope others will enjoy the outline to try with their little scholars!
