CAPTAIN AMERICA!

CAPTAIN AMERICA!
Back in May of 2012, The Avengers Movie was released. I’m embarrassed to say that my friends and I didn't realize the back story of the Avengers.
Food Choices? It had to be BBQ! Can’t get more American than that!
Let’s talk decorations! Patriotic Bunting, a few posters, a life size Captain America Stand up, A homemade Captain America Banner…( My friend Jen LOVES to hammer rivets LOL!! ) I also bought a captain America tablecloth and some cute plastic rings to top the cupcakes.
I made a 3’ x 5’ banner for the outside of the house that pointed to our front door that said “CAPTAIN AMERICA SECRET HEADQUARTERS THIS WAY” I had so much fun designing it, that I did a second poster effect on top of that poster to give the illusion that “RED SKULL’s SUPER SECRET HEADQUARTERS “ As if that wasn't enough, I made my husband drag a desk outside and we set up coffee, donuts, applications for anyone wanting to join “the destruction of everything you know and love organization” LOL Crazy, Right? I even made business cards to set on his desk.
I always like to include dinner programs for my party's. This one was no different. I took the Trivia approach and coupled it with as many fun facts as I could find and added the best posters to create a fun 3 page double sided book that I gave to everyone.
I bought a Captain America Shield to be given to the winner of the trivia game in the program, and I bought Marvel Trading Cards to give out throughout the evening.
I hope you enjoy the pictures -

I bought mine in the city at the marvel comic book store on 40th st in manhattan. The cards are cool but they also had swatches of clothing from the movie on a few special cards. It made the night. Also, it added an extra layer of fun with everyone cataloging and swapping cards.

I did make it. I can email the files if you'd like. Just print on card stock paper and cut out the letters. I attached the letters together with rivets to give the sign more movement. I also designed the banner and hung it outside. I never thought the kids in the neighborhood would came over to see Captain Americas "secret headquarters" - thank god I had made extra cupcakes LOL
