Party Recap

Planning my little man's first birthday party was truly a labor of love! He loves playing with our doxies so it only seem natural that we throw him a puppy themed party, specifically a wiener dog one. I started planning this party months in advance, which was a good thing BOTH for me AND the lives of my loved ones. Not only am I a tad bit obsessed when it comes to party details (too bad I can't be this way with exercising!) but I also like to make and create as many things as I can myself. I totally worked my Silhouette Cameo like a dog (pun intended) for this party! I had so much fun creating all of the paper goodies like the invites, birthday banner, food tents, and tags. The tissue garland on the dessert table was from Target and ended up being the inspiration for the party's color theme; aqua, lime, and navy. Some of my party favorites were the dessert table and the "Pet Adoption" Center. You can see more details at http://delightfullynoted.blogspot.com/2014/07/its-pawty-first-birthday-dog-party.html along with a resource list for all the party decor and goodies.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Hot Dog bar featuring dog themed foods such as "Pawtato Salad", "Pawtato Chips", "Dog House Salad" and "Good Boy Baked Beans".

  • What People Drank

Toilet Water (only the best for my guest)! This pretty blue drink consisted of 50/50 Hawaiian Blue Punch and Sprite. We also served water and soda.

  • Desserts

Guests were treated to a wide variety of desserts and snacks such as "Pupcorn", "Puppy Chow", "Pupcakes", and Scooby Dog Graham Crackers (shaped like dog biscuits)! The birthday cake was white cake with raspberry and bavarian filling.

  • Party Favors

Aside from taking home adorable puppy dinner plates that I found at the Dollar Store , each kid also got to choose a puppy to name and take home.

  • Activities / Games

Each kid got to adopt their own puppy at the "Pet Adoption" Center. I also set up a basket of color coordinating balls and frisbees for the kiddos to play "fetch" with. It worked out great!
