Britta's Baby Shower
ByParty Recap
Lily Chic Events took a trip back in time with this lovely 1920s inspired baby shower for expecting mom Britta. The theme idea came from Britta herself, who requested a “1920s style high tea with hints of poppies and Agatha Christie novels”. The starting point for the design came from a custom printable package from Jennifer Birkhead Design. I brought the interesting concept to life with thoughtful decor in a bold red, black, and white color palette.
At each place setting, guests found a lovely cupcake inside a china teacup for them to take home. Kraft paper from Ikea and the pages of old books were fashioned into paper flowers and glued onto a canvas to create an eye-catching backdrop behind the well-stocked dessert table. The spread included many of Britta’s favorites, including sour cherry nougat, vanilla Turkish Delight, Oreo cake pops, passion fruit cheesecakes, caramel sugar swizzle sticks, salted caramel and raspberry cream macarons, cookies, and a cherry ripe mud cake. For a little more vintage flair, guests typed little keepsake notes to the baby on an old typewriter. Even the bartender got into the spirit for the event and dressed for the 1920s theme! Lee Bird Photography captured all of the lovely photos.
