Brielle Turns 3 Under The Sea Birthday Bash

When our daughter Brielle just couldn’t decide between a mermaid or unicorn themed party, we merged the themes together and threw her an over-the-top Merm-i corn birthday party as she turned 3. Hosted at , “Once Upon an Island” in the Balboa Island subsect of Newport Beach, our guest took a ferry boat across the Newport Island bay, and arrived to Brielle’s Party where a host of Mermaids and Mermicorns dressed up my daughter and her girlfriends as mermaids and gave them makeovers and had a day full of magical surprises. It’s the details the make the memories for me, and the day was full of plenty.

The party decorations featured a stunning unicorn balloon garland, purple and turquoise balloon bouquets, unicorn / mermaid 2-tiered-cake , mermaid party letters across the table, and over the top “Under The Sea” tea party themed decor and a magical vintage trunk.

The adults had their own, parents lounge with full on MOM-O-SA bar, luxurious charcuterie boards and a full 3-course-meal.

You only turn 3 once, Brielle’s magical merm-i corn party will live on. in our hearts forever.

• What People Ate

  Children were served pizza and cake. Adults had a luxury charcuterie board, calamari, Caesar salad, chicken and spinach lasagna, and salmon pasta.

• What People Drank

  Adults enjoyed a MOM-O-SA bar with champagne, juices and berries.

• Desserts

  Strawberry Cake. Top Tier was a unicorn, bottom tier was a mermaid tail.

• Activities / Games

  The mermaids entertained the girls first by helping dressing them up as mermaids. There was a mermaid salon where each girl got a mer-makeover with hair extensions, nail polish ,& face paint. There were three mermaids and half mermaid, half unicorn which they called a mermicorn. The mermaids enchanted guests with story time, magical chants and arts and crafts. My daughter was also crowned a true princess at the end.

  The venue was full service, I brought the food and cake. a they handled set up, clean up, serving food, entertaining guest. My party fee included balloon. garlands, balloon bouquets, huge Mermaid letters across the table etc.

• Inked Sweets

  Cake Baker

  Melanie King, our baker and owner of sinker Sweets designed a gorgeous 2-tiered cake with a unicorn on top and mermaid tail on the bottom. The filling was vanilla with fresh strawberries it was very moist and rich.

  Melissa arranged the most beautful and elegant charcuterie board with edible flowers and beautiful herbs as garnishes.

  We ordered our calamari, salad, spinach lasagna and salmon pasta from Pinnochios in Altadena for delicious Italian cuisine.
