Book Club Dinner
ByParty Recap
I hosted our Book Club Dinner at my house. We held it on the verandah as it is extremely hot on our tropical island right now. The verandah also has a beautiful view of the Black River National Park.
I "googled" some pictures of beautiful book covers and they were printed onto A3 card and laminated. These were used as place mats. I printed some bookmarks which were taken home by my guests.
I made the place cards from wrapping paper printed with elegant writing on them. Three sets of books with attractive book covers were wrapped in ribbon. The wine tags on the glasses are book covers and were attached with baker's twine.
Old French books with beautiful covers were arranged on the dresser. The milk jar vases were wrapped with ribbon and flowers were inserted.
My friend made the coffee cupcakes for me. I emailed her some pretty book covers. They were printed onto edible paper and placed on the fondant books she made me.

Friend and sons
I broke my leg and have been in a wheelchair for a while so my lovely friend Tania made the salad and helped me serve the dinner. My two little boys Max and Jack (5 and 3 years old) put the French books on the dresser for me so that I could arrange them. My husband bought all the ingredients for the food I made from the supermarket for me (I can't drive at the moment).
