Party Recap

The inspiration behind our blue gingham southern-inspired baby shower (despite that we knew and were so excited we were having a boy!) is that after suffering a miscarriage two years prior we knew we wanted our baby shower to feel like a celebration! We intentionally wanted it to be co-Ed so our male family members would feel comfortable attending and enjoying baby things which can often feel less representing of the other half.

Additionally, the color blue represents both the sky and the sea, and is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, expansiveness, inspiration, and sensitivity. Blue also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, heaven, and intelligence.

We are people of faith and when we found out we were pregnant and were approaching our 8-week ultrasound we were at our church and some friends prayed over us. Intuitively I knew it was going to be a boy and I knew his name was going to be Luke. The name Luke means “the bright one” or just “light”.

We loved how Danielle incorporated pops of yellow into our day as well as we felt this brought our idea of celebration, intuition, peace, and light to a full completion.
