Blushing Brunch & Bubbly Holiday Party
ByParty Recap
We got the girls together for a blushing brunch & bubbly holiday party to celebrate Christmas early this year. Feature of this party includes the balloon garland, dessert buffet, rose gold bubbly cart, blush Christmas tree and of course the table setting. Inspired by Kmarts new range of blush dinnerware and glassware came this years colour scheme of blush and gold.
Our desert buffet featured the adorable blush reindeer cake by Lisa from Cakes2Celebrate with the rose gold antlers custom made by Emily from XOXO Designs. Nikki from Niknaks Sweetest Treats provided me with Christmas desserts to match my theme including cake pops, christmas cookies, eclairs and truffles. The gingerbread house was from Woolworths (pre-decorated) and I whipped up the mini pavlova nests using ready made nests, pink whipped cream and added a rasberry and mint leaf to garnish.
Our bubbly cart featured our custom made Bubbly sign from XOXO Designs, with rose gold script to match our theme. We also got the gorgeous rose gold antler stirrers for our drinks. Champagne was pre-poured in coupe glasses and garnished with lime, raspberry and mint for our guests on arrival.
Our dinnerware featured gold cutlery and gold charger plates with pink plates. Kmart also released brand new pink and gold drink ware which was featured on this table setting.
I knew every Christmas party features those paper crowns that you pop out of Christmas crackers, but I wanted something more magical for this event so I asked Liz from Schooza Handmade to craft some adult sized Reindeer crowns (in rose gold of course). My guests loved these as a keepsake instead of the paper crowns that usualy wind up in the bin on the way out.
Some DIY hacks;
- The centrepiece was created using artifical Christmas greenery from Bed Bath n Table and Large and mini Kmart Baubles assembled then tied together using wire.
- The Christmas bon bons were a new DIY I wanted to do this year as I had the stunning Reindeer headpieces made and didn’t want anyone replacing them with the paper crowns from the Christmas crackers – this way I could also add what I wanted to the bon bons (lots of treats).
- Our cake pop stand was created from a sleigh we picked up from Kmart that we spray painted gold. We cut to size and added some styrophoam to the inside to stand the cake pops in, then covered up using gold sweets.
- This could also be classed as a hack – but I got all my food made. I didn’t make a thing (unless you count assembling the fruit for the fruit platter!) Our brunch of quiche lorraine, ceasar salad and potato salad was premade by Woolworths for a quick and easy serving along with fresh rolls. I highly recommend this for anyone who either doesn’t have time, can’t be bothered, or doesn’t know how to cook (me).
