The black and white striped watercolor floral party invitation (geeeee that’s a mouthful), and decorations, are our latest addition to our range of special occasion invites. A fun 30th, 40th or 50th could use this theme, or even a graduation party – it’s feminine yet sophisticated and let’s not forget sexy, right?
We decided to whip up a dessert table to show how the party decorations and printables could be used. Starting off, you can print the black and white striped backdrop included in the set. This is the ultimate convenience as it saves you time in searching for fabric and sewing a backdrop – you just send the file to a company that does large format printing and voila, an instant dessert table backdrop. I must say it took us a while to realize the benefits of large format printing!
Add a banner if you like or you may decide to leave the backdrop and just do a personalized banner – the text is all editable.
We had two arrangements of cerise and orange flowers in large white vases either side of the cake. The cupcakes were iced in a dusty pink but a soft pastel pink or even a cerise pink or even gold (ooooh la la) would work perfectly too. The cupcakes were decorated with personalized cupcake toppers and gold glitter wrappers.
More cupcakes! Remember you don’t need to have a huge amount of food on your dessert table to make it look glamorous – we just had a cake and cupcakes to eat and then “rose water” in glass bottles. The rest of the decor was made up by the backdrop, front-of-table banner, cake stands and flowers.
For the favors, you can add some black and white candy and place it in a small glass jar with lid and attach a thank-you label with gold ribbon. We also added a cupcake topper to the top of the jar for that extra touch!
The black and white front-of table banner I mentioned earlier – it just adds a little decoration to the table and finishes it off.
The tiered cake was decorated with flowers, black ribbon and mini cake bunting. Note the shimmer on the top tier – because we are all about glitz and glam in this party set-up!
I almost forgot to mention the dainty straw flags – some with glitter and some with stripes and florals.
What People Ate
The party was more of a tea party so cake was the order of the day.
