Birthday in a Box River Trip

Pandemic time parties are hard. We just wanted to keep it to our immediate family but we still wanted our 5 yr old to feel as special as he is to us. So we planned a getaway trip to the Rio Frio River starting on his birthday. We rented a cabin and I packed a Birthday in a Box that no one knew about. Throughout the day we continued to celebrate; with Birthday donuts for breakfast, surprised him a road trip Bucee’s shirt (Texas thing), and after setting up the cabin and taking our first river swim I brought the box out after dinner. Inside a Tupperware containers I packed Little Bites birthday cake muffin packs, spray frosting can, 5 candle, cute paper plates/napkin sets, party hats, silly string, and glow sticks. Everyone wore their hats as sang happy birthday, he got to blow out his candle, enjoyed surprise cupcakes, and played into the night around the campfire with glow sticks and a quick silly string fight.
