Birds of a Feather Gather Together: Proud as a Peacock

This was my second annual My Favorite Things Party (last year's Queen Bee is also posted). This year I chose a peacock, Birds of a Feather Theme for the invitations, decorations, games, prizes, favors and foods. Guests loved everything, but we're pretty amazed that I handmade the peacock "boxes", cupcakes and especially the feather painted wine glasses.

• What People Ate

  Peacocktails (kiwi-blueberry Mojitos and white peacock Sangria), fruit and antipasto kabobs, arugula salad (with blueberries, feta cheese and toasted pecans tossed in a fig dressing), four gourmet pizzas, iced watermelon-lime tea, sage infused water with cucumbers and limes, blue velvet cupcakes, pistachio French Macaroons (store bought), pistachio tiramisu and coffee.

• What People Drank

  Peacocktails (blueberry/kiwi Mojitos and white peacock Sangria), watermelon-lime iced tea, sage infused water with cucumbers and lime, and coffee.

• Desserts

  Blue velvet cupcakes decorated with peacocks, pistachio French Macaroons, and pistachio tiramisu

• Party Favors

  Hand painted peacock feather wine glass, handmade peacock gift "box", peacock shopping bag, velvet hanger, set of peacock cocktail napkins, pen, peacock folder and clip.

• Activities / Games

  The favorite things gift exchange was the main event. Others to help people mingle, meet were What's on Your Phone and paper plate game where you draw a peacock with the plate on your head.
