Party Recap
In part because I have a party-planning addiction and in part because our oldest child’s 4th birthday came after six months with a new baby in the house and he deserved a day celebrating just him, I hosted a BIG Birthday Bash: An Elephants on Parade Party Nov. 14 at our home. The elephants theme was chosen by my son; the tie-in to all things BIG (in honor of our BIG kid) was my addition. I chose a classic navy/gray color scheme with light-blue and chevron/polka dot accents, threw in as many references to big/large/huge things as I could, and tied it all together with plenty of tongue-in-cheek references (like the White Elephant Exchange gift table, the Elephant in the Room scavenger hunt, the Pose with a Pachyderm photo booth and the “Elephants Never Forget” notepad favors). The day was easy to put together and a blast for young and old — and I have a feeling we’ll be discovering elephants around the house for a long time to come.
