Party Recap
How does a 32 year old celebrate a Princess Themed Birthday you ask? Simple, you take The Fairy Godmother and design a Bibbidi Bobbidi Bubbly Lounge in her honor. I have seen several Disney Princess themed cocktail recipes on the web and always wanted to try them. So this year I decided to host a girls night. Not just any girls night with wine and pasta. Oh no, no, no...this was going to be a Disney Princess inspired cocktails and appetizers girls night! RSVP's were a must this time around as there was going to be a lot of fun surprises for everyone. I wanted my guest to feel like they had stepped into a magical place as soon as they walked in. I set up a welcome table with a display of champagne glasses decorated with a wand wine charm, each containing a stirrer shaped like a fairy wand. I designed a blue pumpkin sign that read "Please wait for your Fairy Hostess here." I dressed up as more modern, younger version of The Fairy Godmother. As soon as my guest would walk thru the door, I would great them with the same greating "Welcome to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Bubbly Lounge, I'm so glad your here! Please take a glass, hold it tight, and make your way over to the bar for a magical custom bubbly delight." They were instantly excited. I had set up a table where my husband played the bartender. The girls would design a custom mimosa. We featured 3 juices, and 3 simple syrups we called sparkle, and they would choose to top it off with champagne or sparkling water. At the table I set up a place setting with a welcome gift, a gold box decorated with a pink sparkly bow, and a note that said "because your so charming." Inside was a set of 4 wine charms with a spot they could place the charm on their champagne glass and take home at the end of the night. I bake a lot, but never for my Birthday. It's my day off. So instead I featured a Chocolate Fountain and Fruit table. Who can say no to chocolate dipped pineapple and strawberries? Not me...yum!!! I added some mini Stella Rosa wine bottles to either side of the table displayed on a cupcake chandelier stand. And created a swirl Bibbidi Bobbidi Bubbly Lounge sign for the background. I also set up a game and gift table. I displayed the gifts I would give out as favors, game gifts and the raffle gift a "Be Our Guest" wine cork keeper I made complete with matching wine glasses from Disneyland. These were all displayed on magical cake stands provided by OC Vintage Charm. I made some beautiful clocks I hung on top of the table and made a sign that read "live like there's no Midnight" I put this one on top of the TV. My husband was able to connect the TV to my phone, where I had created a PowerPoint presentation to help with the storytelling. Each princess story would introduce a themed cocktail, appetizer, or game. As farewell favors I bought a fun Cinderellas Coach SVG file on etsy and created fun T-shirts for everyone. And handed out some beautiful peanut clusters shaped like a pillow with Cinderellas Slipper. Made by Babz Sweet Treats Overall I had a great time, my guest enjoyed all the drinks, food, and games. But like Cinderellas story all magic ends at Midnight. In my case...I little bit later.
