Party Recap

My pandemic baby turned TWO and we went ALL OUT!

Sweet Ollie has a love for all trucks and animals and adores the “Little Blue Truck” book series so this was the obvious theme for his party! We had GLORIOUS weather and felt so lucky. The party was just so much fun.

Our little guests were so cute and it was hard not to smile throughout the afternoon with little animals roaming around the yard! This really helped bring the book to life too.

I had so much fun with the "farm" theme for the design elements for this party. I went through my collection of flower pots and watering cans and gathered sunflowers for the table arrangements and dessert table. I also decided to pipe edible chocolate and vanilla sunflower cupcakes to match the flowers on the dessert table as a little fun twist and placed these in a tin bouquet.

The main dessert was a two-tiered vanilla-chocolate cake that was vanilla buttercream and decorated with fondant farm animals. The focal point was a "Blue Truck" sugar cookie. I'll admit that I was a little nervous making this as I am not a big fondant person, but I did have fun making this!

For the guest "tablescapes" I played off the rustic vibe by using shiplap tablecloth and created centerpieces that were 20" hay bales decorated with cute mini wheel barrels (which I actually had left over from Ollie's last family-only party) and vintage blue trucks and cute little cows and other farm animals. I also cut out a book-themed character topper with Ollie's name as a special centerpiece.

The arch backdrops were made out of panel that I bought from Home Depot and painted and used Decals from Single Stone Studio. I have to thank the wonderful B'sCustomOcassasions who shipped me the adorable Blue Truck backdrop that you see in many photos. It was so cute!

For the party favors, I decided to make blue truck crayons that I made from a truck mold and tied these together with curled ribbon with matching themed sticker activity books, and placed these on each seat for our friends to take home.

We were sad for the day to end. It was one for the books. Quite literally. :)
