Party Recap

We love to make as many hand made items as possible for our events so we always start early with the planning process. The best part for me aside from seeing how much fun all the kids have is the crafting and prep work I do with my children creating the decor and dreaming up ideas that go with our theme. We love crafting and dreaming together and it brings out so much confidence and creativity in them.
As the guests arrived my daughter had them choose their own party hat which we had made. Each hat was unique complete with felt puppy ears hanging out from underneath. After the guests had chosen their hat they were brought to the puppy adoption table where they had to find their puppy with the matching hat to theirs. This was their very own puppy to adopt! We had adoption certificates printed out which the guests filled in with their name, the name of their newly adopted puppy and signed that they would care for them and love them forever. They then spent some time crafting up personalized collars for their puppies using a variety of beads, charms and string. Our amazing face painter from Facabalooza arrived and set about turning each of the little guests into a puppy of their choosing. We ate a late lunch the menu consisting of hot dogs, ruff-age, kibbles and bits, pup corn, pup cakes and toilet water. We played some games and the girls ran around eating and entertaining themselves with their newly adopted puppies while the face painter created balloon art for them. We have a tradition that we have done with all our children since their first birthday. We make a signing frame decorated in the theme of the birthday party with a photo of the birthday child in the centre. We have all the guests sign it and leave a little note. As this was Avery's 9th birthday she will add this one to the collection on her wall in her bedroom. It is amazing to see the writing change as all her little friends have grown up. We finished up with cake and presents. It was a wonderful day and one I'm sure my daughter and her friends will never forget.
