Party Recap

My son Anthony is a huge fan of the superhero Flash. He loves all things speed and declares that Flash is the fastest person ever. I knew a superhero party was an absolute must for his at home 5th birthday celebration.

  • Day Dream Society

    Party Supplies

I was totally inspired when I found the superhero party plates and cups from @daydreamsociety (www.daydreamsociety.com). I knew that I wanted the party to have a modern and bright feel. The graphics on their plates and cups were perfect. I loved the pop of turquoise.

  • Dough & Batter

    NYC Sugar Artist

I knew immediately that I wanted Melissa, from Dough & Batter (www.doughandbatter.com) to custom create cookies to match the party supplies. Her style is was a perfect match for the look I was going for. The designs were spot on. I knew that a custom cake wasn't in the budget so I used my go-to trick. I went to my local supermarket bakery (whose cakes are absolutely delicious) and asked them to make a plain round cake. No writing. No piping. No decorations. Melissa made a special Number five cookie and the cutest sprinkles to match. I added those to the cake for a more custom feel.

  • Tie A Bow USA

    Table Display and Prop Rentals

All the desserts were displayed beautifully on cake stands and tray rentals from Tie A Bow USA (www.tieabowusa.com). I also used the their superhero prop displays for the mini selfie photobooth area. The kids had so much fun taking pictures.

  • Petite Seats

Kids Speciality Chairs and Table Rentals

The kid chairs from Petite Seats Rentals (www.petiteseats.com) were the perfect touch. My son insisted on having a "special chair" for his birthday. I used the extra wall decals that I had left over from the backdrop and added them to his seat. He was so excited.

  • iHeart The Details Event Design

    Party Planner

When styling events for my clients, my husband and I often create one of a kind pieces specifically made for my clients parties. As an event stylist and planner, I love bringing something unique and special to each space. I knew that I wanted to do a DIY project for my little guy. I was inspired by Pinterest and fell in love with the idea of creating an actual cityscape dessert display. My husband and I bought a ton of wood, a few cans of chalk paint, and got to work. To save time and money, we simply built the frames with 3 sides and a top (keeping the back and bottom open). I loved how it turned out.

  • Indie Bee Balloons

    Balloonist

The display came to life when Elissa from Indie Bee Balloons (www.instagram.com/indie_bee_balloons/) added her organic balloon garland. I wanted to add a bit of texture so I added the paper fans and honey combs for an extra pop of color.

  • Simply Lovely Creations

    Graphic Designer

I finished off the backdrop with a personalized lightning decal for my little Flash from Simply Love Creations (www.simplylovecreations.com).

  • Lts Gourmet Delights

    Gourmet Artisan Candy Lollipops

Each kid also felt super special with a few of their own personalized items. Tamar from Lts Gourmet Delights (www.instagram.com/Lts_gourmetdelights/) made the cutest superhero candy lollipops. I was amazed at how many flavors she offers and the options she has based on dietary needs.

  • Psychobaby Online

    Custom Gifts & Favors

The kids also received cloth favor pouches with their name on it from @psychobabyonline (www.psychobabyonline.com). Inside, they found superhero snacks, pop art tattoos and other fun superhero themed things.

  • AG Illustration

    Photographer

This party was jam packed with superhero awesomeness. I'm so glad Alan from AG Illustration (www.alangillustration.com) was there to capture it all. The photos were beautiful and these memories will last a lifetime.
