A Wonderous Place For You And Me

Zohar Productions, Inc., “The Genie of Special Events,” is an award-winning, nationwide, event planning company specializing in Arabian Nights themed events. Zohar was thrilled to be a part of helping raise over a million dollars to benefit the children at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center at their recent annual Gala attended by 850 guests. Zohar Productions created an “Arabian Nights" experience from the Disney movie “Aladdin” and the event was aptly named, “A Wondrous Place for You and Me.” The Gala took place at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT on November 11, 2017.

Among the many wonders was the Arabian marketplace with five vivid red and gold tents filled with donated silent auction items. Upon arrival, the guests were greeted by beautiful belly dancers tastefully attired in Arabian robes holding feathered fans and a handsome nomadic desert tribesman in front of a desert landscape with camels and palm trees. At the Step N Repeat backdrop, there was a snake charmer with two friendly tame snakes for the guests to pose with. A talented and exciting Arabian band played music on stage and strolled through the giant reception hall, with its 40' ceilings, filling the space with music. Gifted tarot readers and a talented henna artist were part of the festivities during the cocktail hour.

When it came time for the guests to enter the ballroom for dinner, the band and dancers lead them through the tented double doorways into a transformed convention hall ballroom fit for a Sultan. The lighting and gobos on the walls, ceiling and dance floor created an exotic ambience and accented the Sultan's Palace backdrop on the stage. Draping over and around the stage combined with cozy Moroccan lounges complete with lanterns, carpets, brass tables and low seating, framed the stage on either side.

Zohar Productions provided, The Aladdin Dancers, an accomplished troupe of 6 belly dancers for two different performances. The first performance featured fire props and the second shimmering golden wings. Both performances held the audience spellbound and enthralled. After the last performance, the dancers invited guests up onto the dancefloor and danced with them as the stage was reset for The Soul Sound Revue, a dance party band.
